With over 2 decades of performing collectively and individually in the Pacific Northwest, How Now Brown Cow blends jazz and funk with elements of world, island, fusion and soul to create a sound that is all their own. "How Now Brown Cow sound like Coltrane playing the theme song to CHiPs, mixing high art with '70s camp. Throw in tasty samples and some cowbell, and, boy, you're cooking up a party. Bowmp chicka bowmp bow." - The Weekly Volcano. Often compared to and influenced by Herbie Hancok, Weather Report, Average White Band, Tower of Power, P-Funk and Weather Report.


Ian Hughes Quartet

Soul, Jazz, and Groove from Seattle native, vocalist, guitar wizard and “Freudian Slurp” band Leader, Ian Hughes. A mix of Ian’s originals and hand picked covers and arrangements will feature the all-star rhythm section of Joey Walbaum (Tetrabox) on the keyboards, Tyler Graves (Farko Collective, Quantonium) on the Drums, as well as his brother Dylan Hughes (Ancient Robotz, Freudian Slurp), on the Electric Bass. 

Marina Christopher

MARINA CHRISTOPHER is a versatile, up and coming artist in the Seattle music scene. Her skill, cheery nature and work ethic continue to keep Marina busy as a freelance bassist in many musical styles. Marina is also an accomplished vocalist, earning a spot as a finalist in the 2017 Seattle-Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist contest and performing at Dimitriou's Jazz Alley, and a special mention at the same event in 2018.

Marina was born in Seattle, Washington. She began playing the electric bass at age 11 and began playing the upright bass a year later. She grew up listening to her father play jazz and boogie woogie at the piano. This opened Marina up to wide range of music at a young age.

Marina earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Classical Double Bass Performance from Central Washington University, where she studied with Jon Hamar. After college, she worked in the orchestra of Royal Caribbean cruise ship, entertaining passengers from all over the world with her fabulous bass playing!

Since returning to land, Marina has shared the stage with performers such as Meklit Hadero, Eugenie Jones, and Billy Brandt. She is currently a regular member of the musical groups Scarlet Parke, The Bad News Botanists, Winding Hearts, Jerett Samples and Leah T and The Baked Goods. Marina was a founding member of the Mo Jam Mondays at the Nectar Lounge, and has since been the featured artist several times. Marina's original tune "Self Love" was featured on Mo' Jam Mondays on Band in Seattle.
