Afrocop

Genre: Funk , Fusion , Jazz

Seattle trio Afrocop continue to pump out the sonic coolness… a brooding beauty of spectral jazz funk, reinforcing my belief that Afrocop are one of Seattle’s most engrossing and subliminally psychedelic bands. - Dave Segal, The Stranger

Big Tooth (RL Heyer + Tim Kennedy)

Genre: Funk , Fusion , Jazz

RL began performing at the age of 4 starting in a talent show where he sang Chicago’s hit, "You’re the Inspiration", and since has never looked back. At 8, he found his mom’s guitar and after she showed him a few chords, he taught himself to play. With the help of countless great musicians over the years, RL has been sculpted into a unique guitarist, singer/songwriter and has built a reputation for his explosive performances filled with dynamics, versatility, warmth and powerful vocals with the lyrical depth of a wise old soul.

Tim Kennedy is one of the shining stars of the current Northwest jazz scene, and jazz is just the beginning. You’ll find him playing classic rock/country in the group Hot Rod, electric keys in the modern jazz trio Gravity, doing solo gigs as pianist, guitarist and/or singer, and often embracing electronic dance music as his alter ego Richie Aldente.

Together, they started the band BIG TOOTH and will be performing original music from that band's catalogue.

Brad Gibson Duo

Genre: Drummer , Jazz

"Contemplative and just a little wayward, Gibson does it again on his latest project, giving the listener plenty to think about and plenty to hold onto. Epilogue / procession may have been recorded in 2014 through the artist residency program at Jack Straw Cultural Center, but the musicians let fly with an intimate immediacy that never gets old."
