Chris Stevens Band

Genre: Blues , Jazz , Surf Music

Seattle guitarist and singer Chris Stevens has long been a favorite of Northwest blues fans.  Preferring to deliver his electric blues lines with the rich tones of a big Gibson archtop guitar, Chris combines scorching blues feeling with dazzling chops and constantly surprising musical ideas at every show.  Fans and fellow musicians have likend his talents to those of B.B. King, T-Bone Walker and Duke Robillard.

Chris Stevens Band keeps a firm footing in the blues while stretching the boundries with  ultra cool spy themes, reverb drenched surf guitar classics and Chris' own "blues on the edge of jazz" originals, creating an inventive and entertaining style that cuts across genres.

Chris' bandmates are bassist Mark Dalton and drummer Todd Zimberg, with an occasional guest musician thrown into the mix.

Catch this remakable band in action at clubs, concerts and dance halls throughout the Puget Sound area.

Johnny Astro

Genre: Surf Music

Johnny Astro is a surf/lounge band from Seattle, Washington formed in 1997 by guitarist Mark Bombara. They perform instrumental surf, lounge, ’60s spy and movie soundtrack music and originals. The band combines the talents of guitarist, song writer and band leader Mark Bombara, drummer Shane Peck, vibraphonist Susan Pascal, bassist Noah Wilson and saxophonist Marty Jourard.

Surf Monk

Genre: Jazz , Pop , Surf Music

Surf Monk is a Surf band that plays the music of Thelonius Monk, as well as referencing some iconic bass lines that "mash-up" with Monk's famously obtuse melodies.

Adhering to the Surf style, songs are short and catchy, touching on the likes of The Ventures, Dick Dale, and quoting such groups as The Violent Femmes, The Cure, and even the Batman theme song. It makes for a fun set of music.

The Pornadoes

Genre: Rockabilly , Swing , Surf Music

  1. Saturday, November 11 9:00 PM (21+)

The Pornadoes were formed in July 2011, when Minnesotan Tom "Ramshaft" Zgonc and Wisconsinites Jason "Mr. Goessl" Goessl and Ethan "Chet Gracenote" Sobotta (now residents of Seattle) decided to form a band paying respect to their midwest homeland. Goessl, the curator and musical director of the project, formed the group just to have fun, and who better to have fun with than a couple of accomplished, professional musicians born and raised in the Midwest? They collectively recorded two albums of virtuosic surf and western swing instrumentals, "Now Serving..." (2012) and "The Pornadoes...In Space" (2013), and played locally and regionally while balancing time with numerous other artistic commitments.

In early 2014, the Pornadoes were hired to accompany a live burlesque event produced by Seattle burlesque impressarios Lily Verlaine & Jasper McCann.  McCann, a fellow midwesterner, singer, and lover of mid-century musical style since childhood, immediately jelled with the band.  After a series of sit-in gigs, one-offs, and a fateful night at the Sloop Tavern with Mr. Goessl, McCann joined the group in mid-2015 as its first full-time lead singer and lyricist.

The band is currently building a new catalogue of original work, inspired by the "four corners of the great American musical baseball diamond":  Jazz, Surf, Rockabilly, and Country Swing.  Committed to bringing the public the finest in "new-fangled old-fashioned music", expect to see and hear lots more from The Pornadoes in 2017... and beyond!
