Fox and Bones & Haley Johnsen at The Rabbit Box

The Rabbit Box, 94 Pike St, Seattle, WA

Scott Gilmore and Sarah Vitort are Fox and Bones— energetic offbeat folksters with a retro-tinged, soul-stirring, modern vintage bent. The indomitable duo has brought their optimistic Americana polish to international stages shared with the likes of Rayland Baxter, The Dead South, ZZ Ward, Fantastic Cat and ALO among others.

Fox and Bones’ fourth album titled “Long Time Honey” is a collaboration with esteemed artist/producer Greg Holden and has received international acclaim for its upbeat and heartfelt songwriting. Zona Emergente (Mexico) praised the duo, stating, “They manage to make you feel like you can take on the world” while Naga Mag (Greece) lauded, “The much-loved vocals are so familiar and warm that you feel the love overflowing inside you” and Americana Highways (US) beamed Long Time Honey “should rightly be considered one of the best Americana albums of the year.”

Their hardworking artistic output has earned them first place at the 2023 Tucson Folk Festival songwriting contest and second place in the International Acoustic Music Awards, amongst other accolades. In between their rigorous tour schedule, the duo founded Portland’s Folk Festival: an annual, three-night celebration of Folk and Americana music at the iconic Crystal Ballroom in their hometown of Portland, Oregon.

Haley Johnsen is a Portland-based Americana artist blending alt-pop edge with powerhouse vocals and emotionally charged songwriting. Often compared to Brandi Carlile and Bonnie Raitt, she delivers heart-forward storytelling wrapped in bold, anthemic hooks and an electrifying live presence. Haley has toured with and opened for artists including Allen Stone, KT Tunstall, Joseph, The Talbott Brothers, and Liam St. John, and performed at the nation’s largest festival. Summerfest, last year in Milwaukie, WI. Her 2026 NPR Tiny Desk Contest submission featuring her single “Lyin’ Man” marks a bold new chapter of new music dropping May 2026. With millions of streams worldwide via the Virgin Music Group, sponsorships with Fender and Breedlove, and a headline slot at Seattle’s Fremont Fair Festival this summer, Haley Johnsen is bringing the Pacific Northwest’s freshest sound to the world, one unforgettable performance at a time.

THE KINGS OF LATIN JAZZ: Tito Puente Jr and Nestor Torres

Tito Puente Jr.

The comparison is inevitable. How could it be otherwise? Tito Puente Jr. carries his father with him – imprinted on his physical being and locked in his soul. It’s in his looks, his joy, and his music.

Tito, Jr. is on a passionate mission. The younger Puente is determined to nurture the musical legacy left by his father. He refuses to let his father become a distant memory. “He was just too vibrant, too exciting. There was magic in the music my father made. It made people happy all over the world.”

He has found captive audiences who echo his passion. Crowds lured to the venue by the father are returning to see the son — and to once again participate in the high-voltage celebration on stage.

Tito Puente, Jr. has become an audience favorite in casinos, performing arts centers, symphony halls, and jazz festivals worldwide, performing more than 300 shows over the past 5 years.

His 2004 album, “In My Father’s Shoes,” featured the classic Puente titles and was spun into a BET Jazz television special of the same name.

He was seen in a tribute to his father’s music on NBC’s two-hour special–“The Apollo at 70: A Hot Night in Harlem.” He has also appeared on the ABC soap opera hit “One Life to Live” in performance with his big band.

Symphony appearances include Dallas, San Antonio, Colorado, South Bend, and upcoming performances with the Palm Desert Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra conducted by Marvin Hamlisch.

Tito, Jr.’s new CD release, “Got Mambo?”, is a mix of the old and the new as he takes a musical departure into powerful music he can truly call his own. Guest artists Bobby Cruz and Hansel & Raul help make this a coming-of-age project for Puente, Jr., and the album is receiving heavy praise from Tropical and Latin Jazz critics alike.

Tito Jr. reveres the magnificent, lasting impact his father had on our musical lives. “People who don’t know anything about Latin music know my father and people always, always smile when they say my father’s name,” he confides. “That is a very special gift I have been given.”

Nestor Torres – Latin Grammy Award Winner & Multi-Grammy Nominee

Nestor Torres is a Puerto Rican flautist. He studied at Berklee College of Music, Mannes School of Music in NYC and later at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston. Torres’ career includes collaborations with Herbie Hancock, Tito Puente, and Gloria Estefan, Kenny Loggins, Dave Matthews, Paquito D’Rivera and Arturo Sandoval. as well as performances with The New World, Cleveland and Singapore Symphony Orchestras. He has released 18 CDs to date and has earned 4 Latin Grammy nominations, 1 Latin Grammy Award, and a Grammy nomination. His playing incorporates a seamless blend of Latin jazz, pop, straight-ahead jazz and classical styles. He has been described as “an exotic mix of styles that takes the listener through American, Brazilian, and Afro-Cuban jazz”.

In addition to the Latin Grammy, Nestor Torres is the recipient of many awards, including two honorary doctorate degrees from Barry University and Carlos Albizu University, for his commitment to youth, education and cultural exchanges.

Jane Monheit “I Am In Love”

Jane Monheit “I Am In Love”

Friday, June 5 @ 7:30PMFri, Jun 5 @ 7:30PM

Mainstage Theatre, 216 Union Street, Seattle

Jane Monheit is a jazz and adult contemporary vocalist with a deep passion for the Great American Songbook. With many highly acclaimed solo albums, countless awards and accolades, and over two decades of international touring experience, Jane has not only been an extremely successful bandleader, but has had the privilege of making music with some of the greatest musicians, arrangers, and producers in jazz.

During her childhood, Jane studied woodwinds and piano, spent a decade performing in award winning choirs, and participated in community theater on Long Island. Throughout all of this, her focus remained on jazz, especially interpretation of the Songbook. At the age of 20, during her senior year at the prestigious Manhattan School Of Music, Jane placed second in the Thelonious Monk Competition, now known as the Hancock Competition. This led to an incredible career trajectory, catapulting Jane into the jazz stratosphere nearly overnight.

By 22, Jane was working with legends such as Tommy Flanagan, Ron Carter, and Kenny Barron, recording her first albums, and touring the planet. This led to collaborations with jazz luminaries such as Terence Blanchard, Ivan Lins, Tom Harrell, John Pizzarelli, Christian McBride, Vince Mendoza, Jorge Calandrelli, and many more. Countless television appearances followed, including David Letterman, Conan O’Brien, CBS Sunday Morning, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show, The View, and many popular international talk shows. Several successful film soundtracks have also included Jane’s music, including Sky Captain And The World Of Tomorrow and Never Let Me Go.

After more than twenty years, twelve studio albums and countless recorded guest appearances, Jane has continued to tour the world nearly nonstop, including playing iconic venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, and headlining at nearly every legendary jazz club on the planet, most notably NY stalwarts such as the Village Vanguard and Birdland. In addition to touring, she also writes English lyrics for Ivan Lins, and uses the knowledge and experience she has gained both at Manhattan School Of Music and on the legendary bandstands of the world to educate and uplift students worldwide. Jane resides in Los Angeles with her husband of over twenty years, drummer Rick Montalbano, and their son.
