The upcoming release Roots & Wings marks the electrifying debut of 20-year-old blues-rock sensation Amani Burnham, who has captivated millions on social media with his raw talent and magnetic presence. Released on the acclaimed Blind Pig Records, this 12-track collection showcases Amani's remarkable guitar work—played uniquely with his right-hand thumb rather than a pick—alongside soulful vocals and introspective songwriting. From the turbo-charged instrumental "Fastlane" to the deeply personal title track reflecting on his Ethiopian roots, the album crackles with groovy blues-rock riffs, cosmic solos, and stinging vibrato. Recorded at the renowned Carriage House Studios with a classic power-trio setup, Roots & Wings honors the legacy of blues-rock giants while heralding a bold new voice for a new generation.

The Rabbit Box, 94 Pike St, Seattle, WA

Abbie Gardner is a fiery dobro player with an infectious smile. Whether performing solo or with Americana darlings Red Molly, her tales of love and loss, both gritty and sweet, are propelled by her impeccable slide guitar chops. As an award-winning songwriter, captivating vocalist, and a world-class lap style dobro player, she has an unmistakable sound all her own. This is masterfully captured on her 2022 CD "DobroSinger." The record made it to #11 on the Billboard Blues Charts and #2 on the Folk DJ Charts, receiving rave reviews in Bluegrass Unlimited, Acoustic Guitar Magazine and American Songwriter. It’s a raw intimate recording full of blues, ballads and the ache of the unknown. It’s quite a contrast to her previous CD, which featured a co-write with Chris Stapleton and leaned on full band production. Abbie stands strong as a solo act and has opened for Lori McKenna and Martina McBride.

Acoustic Guitar Magazine says, "sheer brilliance and power ... her evocative guitar is a second voice throughout, sometimes singing in unison, in harmony other times, or answering as in a conversation with the singer. The playing and singing are both impeccable and loaded with personality. You can hear every nuance of the slide, smooth one moment or rattling slightly at the end of a phrase like punctuation; and her intimate, pitch-perfect vocals—wistful, playful, confessional—sound like they’re dancing with the guitar."

Her background is as varied as the songs she writes. Her father, Herb Gardner, is a stride pianist and dixieland trombonist. Abbie didn’t get into music school on her original instrument (flute), but graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Occupational Therapy. She gradually found her way back to music in Boston's folk music scene.

CARL VERHEYEN BAND - ONE OF THE TOP GUITARISTS IN THE WORLD TODAY

Carl Verheyen, recognized as “One of the World’s Top 10 Guitarists” by Guitar Magazine and “One of the Top 100 Guitarists of All Time” by Classic Rock magazine, is bringing his five-member Carl Verheyen Band to Seattle's Triple Door on Friday, July 24. In addition to his 25-year solo career, Verheyen was Supertramp’s lead guitarist for three-plus decades and has performed on dozens of the most popular records, TV shows and movies of all time. Recently he teamed up with Police drummer Stewart Copeland to play a series of concerts in major symphony halls across North America.

Carl's band includes longtime collaborator and bassist Dave Marotta (Phil Collins, Gino Vanelli, Burt Bacharach), ace drummer John Mader (Bonnie Raitt, John Fogerty, Steve Miller) and keyboardist and guitarist Troy Dexter (Wilson Phillips, Venice). Together, these world-class musicians perform a stunning mix of rock, blues, jazz, country and more. Hollye Dexter on background vocals adds four-part harmony to the already virtuoso musicianship.

Verheyen’s 40+ years of solo, band, and studio guitar work have progressed to where hardly a day goes by during which anyone with access to music, movies, or television doesn’t hear him. As a first-call studio guitarist, Verheyen is the guitar behind some of the most popular TV shows (Seinfeld, Frasier, Cheers, Happy Days, LA Law, Married with Children, among others) and movies (Cars, Star Trek, The Usual Suspects, Ratatouille, The Negotiator, hundreds more) of all time. In addition to his duties as Supertramp’s lead guitarist, he has performed and recorded with a who’s-who of music giants, including the great BB King, Cher, Christina Aguilera, the Bee Gees, Albert Lee, Sonny Landreth, Jerry Douglas, and many others.

Verheyen has provided one-on-one guitar lessons for John Fogerty, James Valentine from Maroon 5, and Shavo from System of a Down. He was a featured soloist at the Academy Awards, playing live to a TV audience of more than 67 million. He has released 17 of his own CDs, mixing CVB releases with acoustic solo efforts such as Solo Guitar Improvisations and Alone.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

“Every time I start to feel good about my playing and general overall knowledge of the guitar, I will get together with Carl and see truly how far I have to go. I am proud to call him my friend. A master of the guitar and a helluva nice guy to boot.” -Joe Bonamassa

“Carl is so overwhelming to sit in a room and jam with, let alone his playing on records and stage. You get the impression there is no style or territory he is unable to explore.” -Brad Paisley
