A folk-pop trio from Seattle, performs funny original songs whose exquisite musical detail and subtle needling wit attain a level of craft not often seen in pop" - NY Times
In August 1981, when three Seattle newcomers came together and learned a few songs to busk at the Bumbershoot gates — they made just enough to get into the festival — no one had any idea that they’d be still going strong 40 years later. Now, after hundreds of songs, ten releases, one book, multiple North American tours, an 18-month forced hiatus, and a few wardrobe changes, Uncle Bonsai returns to The Triple Door for two nights of original music. These Anniversary Shows will feature old and new songs, representing 40 years of the best of Uncle Bonsai, including a few more of those “songs they swore they’d never sing again!” And this year, as an added bonus, buy a 2-night ticket and the group guarantees that at least 50% of the songs will be different each night. Hear your favorites . . . hear their favorites . . . hear some others. Don’t miss this 40th Anniversary Celebration; join us at Uncle Bonsai’s first Seattle area shows since March 2020.
